Tea Country, Sri Lanka

A few days into our trip we traveled inland towards Nuwara Eliya into tea country. The drive was long and windy and I had to close my eyes for a lot of it. :) Justin works for Eurasia Coffee & Tea, a non-profit whose proceeds support various humanitarian projects in Eurasia. We were there to learn about tea processing and I to document it (which was fascinating).

We stayed on a tea plantation and our first night we set out immediately for a hike through those glorious tea fields. The views were unreal! And a really endearing part of our trip: nearly everywhere we went we were served piping hot tea. Everyone was so warm and hospitable! And even though it was 90+ degrees outside we gratefully accepted. :) Ceylon tea is delicious.
