Jeffrey & Sarah in Gowanus, Brooklyn

The details of Jeffrey & Sarah's wedding were phenomenal - custom matchboxes as favors, the most stunning flower arrangements (everywhere!), and the most delicious food you've ever put in your mouth. They happened to choose the top two dessert vendors available: their wedding cake from Milk Bar and pies from Four & Twenty Blackbirds.

Every decoration was custom made for them and their day which is impressive enough. What made it even more so, was how their friends and family had a hand in nearly every part of it. From the illustrated crest drawn by one of Sarah's closest friends & illustrator, Stephanie Fishwick to the cathedral-style veil sewn by her mother, and the song she walked down the aisle too sung by their friend who also created their beautiful invitations and paper goods, it was truly a celebration that was touched by so many of their loved ones. Their wedding coordinator was also a friend of theirs who flew in all the way from Paris for the event!

Since their apartment was a few neighborhoods away, the girls (Sarah and her bridesmaids) found an Airbnb rental across the street from the venue to get ready in. Brooklyn apartments are tiny and Sarah had many bridesmaids, so she actually got mostly ready in the brownstone garden! Her stunning gown was a Carroll Hannah that she found at Lovely Bride, and did you see those Valentino shoes? Amazing. Sarah's jewelry were family heirlooms. The guys went to Freeman's Sporting Club Barber, where else, to get groomed for the big day.

The venue, 501 Union certainly held its own as a wedding venue, too - it's stunning decor and space was the perfect backdrop to their wedding & reception. The neighborhood, Gowanus was also an inspiring place for photos. The perfect amount of brownstones, Brooklyn charm and a little grit.
