Bandipur, Nepal
We visited Nepal during their rainy season when there's no visibility of those glorious Himalayas. Our luck turned in Bandipur, this magical hilltop village that still had internet cafes and where there were always children playing soccer in the streets. The skies cleared for a few minutes and we got to see that Himalayan range - they are breathtaking!
Later, we had a dinner of water buffalo (which tasted like a tough steak) and even later, joined the village to watch the World Cup finals at 2 in the morning. They projected it from an old television set onto a building at the end of the square. Everyone sat/stood, drinking Coca-cola's and cheering predominately for Argentina. (We quietly cheered for Germany.)
